“I strive to create simple yet dynamic forms that communicate a sense of order and calm. The use of a porcelain clay body and slab construction helps me achieve a clean, formal aesthetic. My surfaces are white, sometimes with a tiny area of color and other times with minimal black linework. I am influenced by architectural forms and interior spaces and how they function as containers, creating structure, composition, and organization. The simple, pure understatement in Eastern art and philosophy continue to inspire me formally and conceptually.”
