A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pat Scull has worked in many disciplines including graphics, painting, sculpture and ceramics. Her ceramic work combines hand building with throwing techniques to produce semi-functional teapots, vases and bowls. "Coming from a painter's perspective, I am very interested in texture and color and have spent much time developing glazes with this in mind. My forms are organic and tactile as I use devices such as talons, thorns, scales, antennae and tongue-like protrusions to create delicate and unusual pots."
