Handmade miniature quilt by Kathie Ratcliffe. Mariner's compass quilts were especially popular in coastal areas of early America. This black/red/gold palette was inspired by a quilt made in Bridgeport, Connecticut, c. 1840-65.
Framed with acid-free mat and conservation glass. Frame is handpainted to simulate wood grain.
