Husband and wife team Steven McGovney and Tammy Camarot say of their collaboration, “the creative sum is greater than the parts – our work is the best of both of us.” McGovney designs and slip casts each piece in low-fire white clay, hand finishing it with pulled spouts, handles and sculptural additions. After the first firing, Camarot gains control, painting under-glaze colors and delicately scribing highlights. Fired again, the piece is dipped in a clear glaze and sent to the kiln one last time.
