Laura Sherman, a furniture designer and full-time architect, conveys an architectural and conceptual inspiration behind her one-of-a-kind works. Using the woodworking skills and craftsmanship she obtained through furniture courses at Carnegie Mellon, she produces highly sculptural pieces that are each inspired by a unique concept. Laura believes that each composition should carry with it a distinct meaning and yet also be functional in its use. Often using complex joinery and unique construction techniques, Laura achieves an aesthetic integrity in the work she does.
