Joyce Keister's fascination with weaving stems from an early interest in textiles. She always wanted fabric that couldn't be found in stores and clothing different from ready-made. To make her unique yarns, she begins with white yarn, which she winds into warp chains. She then paints dyes on the yarn before warping her loom. A computerized loom and weaving software has made the greatest impact on her work, giving her much more freedom to design the fabric. Joyce's work can be seen at several galleries around the country.
