| "I have been working in metals for twenty years and it still remains my passion. I try for asymmetrical shapes, texture, movement and dimension. Color juxtaposition is a strong point in my work and I mate unusual stone colors and textures with each other for the unexpected visual effect. I want the wearer to hold one of my pieces and feel they are looking at a well constructed, one-of-a-kind jewel that connects with them on an emotional as well as technical level. Ardith Johnson uses overlay, lost wax casting, reticulation & fusing, forging, forming, piercing, twisted wire, chasing, electroplating and enameling in her unique handcrafted jewelry.
