Jim Hankins' formal education included a BFA and MFA in sculpture. He combines his art training and 3-dimensional studies with his knowledge of traditional furniture making to create a unique product. Jim Hankins says his “work as a furniture designer and maker has one hand in the avante garde art world which demands a harsh critical design process and the other in the exacting traditional wood working world that demands that each piece be made right and made to last.”
