Fine woodworker and teacher, Owen Edwards, declares his life objectives are "to live and work in a stimulating and creative environment ... to continue my education through study and teaching ... to help people see with their hands as well as their eyes ... to bring the philosophy of care and patience in the crafting of fine objects to others." He is inspired by the magnificent surroundings of his home and studio on the Mendocino coast of northern California.
Owen strives for a sense of wonder in the furniture he creates. The objects tell a story .. the story of the maker, of the materials, of the place it was made. Each piece evolves after learning the "wondrous stories" of his clients. Finished commissions provide a connection between the artist's hand and the "stories" he brings to life for those lucky enough to share this artistic journey.
Owen Edwards will accept commissions to create special pieces that will bring pleasure and comfort to his clients.
