Symbolic figures with shrouded bodies and expressive heads mounted on a metal rod with natural wood base showing starburst in grain. The "Holocaust Requiem" Series is sculpted and textured high fired porcelain. A red terra sigillata was used for slight coloring under a smoke-fired surface.
Since holocaust's definition means burnt offering, I felt this title was entirely appropriate for a subject of such heartfelt meaning. The series is a straightforward interpretation in remembrance of those souls that suffered and died during an intolerable time in our history. ("Holocaust Requiem I, II, III, IV, V, VI")
