| C.ClayWard's horse hair-fired raku vessels are wheel-thrown porcelain which are hand-painted and burnished to a smooth, lustrous finish. They are fired one at a timeweather-permitting. Due to the explosive nature of the raku process, many attempts may fail. The lidded pieces have fossilized bone handles collected by the artist during fossil hunting expeditions. C.ClayWard's German and American Indian heritage combine to create an interest in anthropology, paleontology, history, wildlife and the environment. There is very limited production of these cave painting-inspired pieces—they are truly one-of-a-kind. |
