Robin Bergman has won six Niche Awards granted for technical and creative excellence in knitwear. She has had dozens of articles written about her work and is being featured in two recent publications: The Fiberarts Book of Wearable Art and The Surface Design Journal special issue on Knitted Surfaces. Her inspiration comes from antique and vintage textiles, rugs, garments, damasks, brocades, pottery, traditional indigo textiles, and natural organic forms. Robin has a very painterly use of color and pattern with an emphasis on surface design and texture, magnificent color combinations, along with exquisite styling and workmanship. “I use combinations of patterns and images across garments to achieve different effects as well as to experiment with different color palettes for the same garments.”
